Bowling Green UKS Youth Karate
This program offers instruction for all levels from beginner to Black Belt. Students are taught requirements with an emphasis on skill development and rank progression. Participation in class does not focus on tournament participation, but some students do compete, and the skills needed to compete are taught. Use of the skills learned will also increase a student’s ability in a self-defense situation. Most students increase their coordination, balance, overall athletic ability and confidence.

Classes meet Saturday morning at the Dolores Black Gym, located in the Bowling Green Community Center, 1245 West Newton Road, Bowling Green, Ohio.

 

Beginners (Ages 8-14)
9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Saturday

Intermediates (Ages 8-14)

Advanced Level (Ages 8-18)
Yellow belt through Black Belt. Emphasis is on learning requirements for promotion. Students learn techniques, as they would be applied in self-defense, or used in sport competition.

Brown Belt Level
Registration in the Brown Belt class includes participation in the Saturday morning advanced class, the Sunday evening Brown Belt class, and the monthly Black Belt class.

Emphasis in this class is on developing students as leaders and teachers of younger or less experienced students, especially during the Saturday class. Refinement of previously developed skills is required. During Sunday classes the Brown Belts focus on learning the more advanced skills of the Brown Belt requirements, including the use of weapons.

Saturdays 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., Sundays 5 – 7 p.m.
Fees:
$145 for 12 weeks or 2 payments of $75

The UKS Kids Karate Fitness Class (Ages 5 to 7)
The United Karate System program now offers a new class especially for children 5 to 7 years old.  The new program emphasizes coordination, timing, speed, focus, core muscle development, and spatial awareness, taught in a fun environment.  Students learn traditional martial art attributes of respect, courtesy, and cooperation.  Classes are held in the Dolores A. Black gymnasium at the Bowling Green Community Center, Saturdays from 12:30 -1:15 pm.  Cost of the class is $45, per six weeks. Registration takes place at the first class. 

Discounts for Multiple enrollments: We offer that if you have two students per family each student receives a $10 discount. 3 or more family members, receive $15 per member discount. If you refer a friend to join the class you will be given a $15 discount when they register, as we are grateful that you have recommended others to join our program.

Napoleon Karate Program
The Napoleon program offers similar classes as the BG UKS Youth Karate Program.

All classes meet at the West Elementary school, in Napoleon, OH.

We meet on Sunday, 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. and on Tuesday, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Fees: $100.00 for 12 weeks or 2 payments of $55. Register at the class.

BGSU Adult Karate
Classes are held in the gymnasium at the St. Thomas More parish. St. Thomas More is located at 425 Thurstin Avenue across the street from parking lot "J".

 Classes meet on Monday and Wednesday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
